If you've read this series so far, then you'll know the main female character from the first 2 books, Crystal Murphy. She is this sweet, quiet girl who is always there for her friends when they need her.

This book really brings out the bad boy & good girl trope. Crystal is still pretty much her sweet, caring self throughout this book until she runs into the boys from the Tartarus House.

We don't really learn much about the Tartarus House or the guys in it until book 2 in this series. Even then, it wasn't really a while lot. We met Caleb and Blaine in Evil Boys due to them being exes/friends to Nathan and Milo.

** Side note, if you did read Evil Boys, then you know about Crystal and Lana getting taken. That scene does happen in this book, but later on towards the end. **

Crystal ends up at an outside party with friends at the Tartarus House, where she witnesses the 3 MMCs doing something she shouldn't have seen.

The Tartarus boys are Ares Torres, Caleb Preston, and Blaine Navarro. If Ares' last name sounds familiar, it's because his brother Kai Torres is the leader of the Phantom Society (Evil Boys). That connection between those 2 characters was a real shocker to me. Kai never spoke of a brother at all, but you'll learn tons more about that and their family in this book.

After realizing Crystal witnessed what they did, Ares and Caleb set out to shut her up. Which just led to blackmail and deals being made the longer the story went on.

I really did enjoy Blaine's character. He didn't tag along with the other guys to torment her. He enjoyed reading spicy romance books and sitting back to watch the chaos. He was truly a calm and collected guy compared to most men in this series. I think his multiple black belts mellowed out his personality.

Blaine also approached Crystal in the beginning, offering his services to teach her how to fight/protect herself from the other 2 guys. He was also very upfront with Crystal on his feelings towards her and his commitment to Ares and why. Everything was upfront with Blaine. He was my favorite character. I just loved his personality.

I had some mixed feelings about Caleb. He is sneaky and cunning. He also becomes obsessed with Crystal almost immediately. Anything Ares did with her or claimed with her, Caleb always wanted the exact same, plus more. Even going behind Ares back to get her.

Yes, Caleb and Ares are in a relationship in this book. Caleb struggles with a lot of mental health issues. I don't think that whole situation was handled correctly when he would struggle.

** Side note, Caleb's dad and Crystal's mom end up dating and getting engaged in this book. So there were awkward family dinners and get togethers between the 2 that often led to them doing spicy things in the family home **

Ares is the main leader of the Tartarus House. He often refers to himself as a God in this book and wants Crystal to refer to him as one. He was very arrogant, yet very quiet. He's not a man of many words unless it's dirty talk.

There is also a lot going on with Ares and his family behind the scenes. We see the family arguments and him denying to do his father's work, but getting into trouble when her goes against his father. It's a real tense and sad situation. So, please check your trigger warnings.

These boys end up becoming obsessed and possessive over Crystal except for Ares or seemed. Caleb and Blaine end up being Crystal to listen to what Ares says and wants. Their main goal ends up becoming to keep her safe and alive from Ares. Yet, they can't tell Ares no themselves.

The secrets end up coming out and destroying them. After all, there is a secret revenge planned on one of them that the others don't know about. It was a real shocker. I didn't see nor expect  that part coming, and the part  that comes out right before and then after. So many lies and secrets were being held from each other.

The narrators in this book were amazing as always. I love everything Corvin King does. I could listen to his voice so day long. It's a deliciously deep and yummy voice. His voice during dirty talk/spicy times... yes, please 🙏
Desiree Ketchum does such an amazing job narrating. She can do the female and male voices very well. I've listened to tons of books narrated by her, and I've never been disappointed listening to her. These 2 work so well and come together to make the books they read really amazing.
