Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr
3.0
The concept was okay, the writing wasn't bad, but the ending and story as a whole was really lacking.
Fae fiction is one of my favorite sub-genres, and this had a lot of great elements. However, everything wrapped up in a really cheesy and rather ridiculous way. It was as if every character had to have a magical happy ending regardless of how incompatible it was with the earlier conflict and lore elements established by the author.
Overall, it only took about two and a half hours to read the entire book, so I wouldn't dissuade someone from bringing this to the beach or on an airplane, but be careful not to read it looking for the next great YA faerie series. There are just too many others out there.
