I think I started this book at the wrong time, because by the end I was completely enchanted, but it took a while to feel that way and I can't for the life of me work out why. I adored Linus and Arthur, and could happily read stories about the children's adventures on Marsyas forever. So why it took a while for this to all bed in with me is a mystery.
But I'm so glad I did love it eventually. The characters are gorgeous (I have a particular soft spot for Chauncey), the prejudice they face is awful but the way they all (even Lucy) rise above is amazing. I really need to know more about the world Klune has built, the magical beings inside it and what caused them to be so reviled. Mostly I just want more Linus and Arthur; I can't wait to read the next one.
