Lady Macbeth by Ava Reid

5.0

WOW WOW WOW. It's been an unthinkably long time since a book kept me up past midnight, but "Lady Macbeth" did just that. It’s not only the most captivating book I've read in 2024, but perhaps one of the best ever. This gripping retelling of Shakespeare’s "Macbeth", from Lady Macbeth’s perspective, brings a refreshing feminist POV to the story. The writing is absolutely stunning. The relationship between Roscille and Lisander was pure, innocent, and exactly what this dark, gothic fairy tale needed. I literally can't stop talking about, and I won’t accept any criticism of it. Literary perfection Ava, thank you for this!
