This is a great example of a standalone taboo romance. No spoilers, of course.
The plot - let’s start with the tropes! Enemies to lovers (it’s one sided, I know), age gap romance, taboo best friend’s dad romance, single father romance and surprise pregnancy trope. It is a standalone, with a sweet HEA. There is spice, probably 2/5 on the spice scale. Mild compared to other books but definitely tasteful. Look I loved this one. It was cute and sweet and sexy. My only issue was the miscommunication and the inability of the characters to have a damn conversation! It’s always a pet peeve of mine, but when a grown man runs away… God it bugs me. Otherwise, loved it!
The FMC - our main character is Elena, and whilst she is our badass woman out for revenge against the MMC, if only she’d applied some critical thinking skills… alas, homegirl wasn’t feeling it so instead she created chaos and bathed in it. I preferred the chaos option too, Elena. I really think it was the better choice too.
The male love interest - Alex is our single dad billionaire who isn’t that great at communicating… or being a dad… or listening, for that matter… However by the end he learns to show up, and learns to be a better person so he gets a pass.
