Well and Truly Pucked is the last book in Lauren Blakely’s interconnected standalone My Hockey Romance series. Each book has been fun, flirty, fast-paced, and full of spice, especially when each book is Why Choose. Well and Truly Pucked not only has those qualities but also has three hockey players instead of two this time, and they are willing to assist the FMC, Blair, not only in retrieving her cat from her ex-boyfriend but also in providing her with romance lessons on being a perfect boyfriend.

I knew from the first chapter this was going to be another great read in this series from Lauren Blakely. The MMCs, Hollis, Rhys, and Gavin, already won over this reader when they helped Blair rescue her cat from her ex-boyfriend, who tried to keep the cat for his new girlfriend. What a douche! Blair decides the best way to overcome a breakup is to escape to a cabin for a week while she looks for a new place to live. The cabin she’s staying at, though, is about to have three additional people due to a booking going wrong. Those three people are the same hockey players who helped her rescue her cat. Now, Blair is forced to share a cabin with Hollis, Rhys, and Gavin and she’s about to overcome her breakup quickly when the three guys show her how she should’ve been treated and also assist her with other things.

I definitely enjoyed this Why Choose storyline of Well Truly and Pucked and how Blair ends up with the sweetest rival hockey players who are willing to do anything for Blair. The hockey players were great friends who were all about sharing and having a good time with Blair. I can’t pick which one was a favorite because they each were memorable in different ways, and their character development was well-done. The guys also were about communication with Blair and providing for her, especially when it came to romance lessons. One of my favorite scenes between the four characters involves the board games they played, especially Candy Land. Yeah, I’ll never look at that game the same way, thanks to this book.

I do wish the revenge plot had been a bit more. Blair’s ex-boyfriend deserved a little bit more thrown at him after what he did to her. Blair won in the end because she ended up having three sexy hockey players who treated her and her adorable dog and cat way better.

If you enjoy Why Choose Friends to Lovers Hockey Romance stories, then check out this book (the whole series, actually). It’s light on the hockey for this one but heavier on the spicy moments between the characters.
