Very strong world building that I have come to expect from Martin's works, and generally interesting, but not my favorite from the series. Probably could have been edited down a bit... not gonna lie....
Easily the most interesting part of this book was getting Cersei's perspective a bit more. It is fascinating to witness her internal monologue: her fears, her disdain, her paranoia, and eventuallyher undoing. She is slowly going more and more mad. Mad with power and mad with grief.
As always, I enjoyed all the character’s storyline connections. That is always very cool.
In short, the wise Elder Brother once said "we're all born naked." And as RuPaul stated many years later, "we are all born naked... and the rest is drag." Kind of makes you think.
