The Summer Girl by Elle Kennedy
4.0

4/5 on the steamy scale. From the beginning steam started as a smolder and eventually built to a full geyser. I appreciated the slowness and not being fully attacked too early in the story like Cassie with Aaron. Some books jump in too quickly and is more like porn than spicy romance. Elle has done a great job balancing the sex scenes with the characterization and storylines.

I did not read the first two Avalon Bay books, but now plan to. Elle has developed the characters well enough this book can stand alone. The storylines are interesting without being heavy. Cassie made me think about my own too often pessimistic outlook and her “silver linings” and made me vow to try and see more of them. I liked how all the relationships aren’t all tied up in a happy little bow, made the story feel more realistic.

Highly suggest to someone who wants an easy, sexy read, with a bit of some colorful language.
Thanks to St. Martin’s Press and Elle Kennedy for my advanced readers copy!!
