Well written but extremely disturbing. The author writes about apathy SO well. Touched on a lot of different themes but didn't really unpack anything? I wish I read more trigger warnings about this book, there are points where it feels the author goes on and on about gore without it really doing anything for the plot. I think certain gory scenes could have been omitted in favor of exploring the conspiracy aspect of the story further.
Graphic: Grief, Animal death, Injury/Injury detail, Excrement, Animal cruelty, Death, Genocide, Blood, Cannibalism, Confinement, Emotional abuse, Gore, and Ableism
