The Odd Women by George Gissing

5.0

It is a wonder that despite the years that have passed, the themes raised in this book are still as relevant as ever. Feminism is not about merely attain equality of status with men, but about defining identity. The story ends with a rather bleak conclusion, though I would think that by this, the author realistically points out how much more progress is needed by women in their individual journeys. I would highly recommend reading this book, especially in the light of this International Women's month of March.
