This story is such a heartbreaking yet heartfelt story that gives you hope and so much more. There are moments where my heart breaks for Leela as she tries to stay afloat but there are moments where I just want to yell at her to walk away from the family because of how they treat her and expect her to do so much when she is only one person. She has such fire and passion to do good and become that doctor to help her family. I was so frustrated and angry at how her parents and siblings treated her. But I can see this being a real thing. I think that is one thing that drew me in more to this story is how real it felt. Then you have Wes who just wants Leela and nothing else. Not what she has or can make. Just for herself. I love how these two connected regardless of how much she fought it. I also loved how he didn’t back down to her as she fought their connection.
Overall, this story keeps you on your toes as the characters change and develop. You get immersed into the world that the author created and you find yourself rooting for Wes and Leela. Though I think I did need a little more on the history of group that Wes hangs out with as well as Wes himself. Sometimes you get in depth with them, but I have so many questions about Wes. I would highly recommend this story if you love your angst too! Oh it is off the charts!
