Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger

This book was. So. Freaking. Good!
I have had such poor luck with books this year, yet this one sucked me in from the very beginning. There was never a moment where I didn’t feel like picking it up or I got bored. I was hooked the whole time.
There are also many characters and they’re all so fleshed out and unique! The world is amazing and full and interesting. It also had a great balance of Sophie living the elven life and the greater plot at hand.
Literally my only complaint is I don’t get why Bronte is being such a jerk over a 12 year old (what kind of person promises to fail a kid just bc he doesn’t like her?), but I’m sure that will be explored in future novels.
God, I wish I had book two already!
