Oorlogswinter is a Dutch historical fiction that is one of the most popular middle-grade books in the Netherlands. I think I read this in primary school at the age of 11 or so, but I'm not completely sure.
Anyhow. I read it again today and I absolutely loved it. This book is so good, Jan Terlouw is a great Dutch writer! I would recommend this to everyone who loves historical fiction because this is a whole different perspective then in most of the historical fiction books I think. This book has also been translated to English so it's available to read for international readers as well!
