Beach Read by Emily Henry

3.0

The story was kinda different than what I was lead on to believe, primarily based on things such as the cover, the marketing and other people's reviews.
That's not to say I'm disappointed. I liked that we got to delve into Gus and January's inner feelings regarding their parents as well as their own love lives.
Their banter could have been cuter though, and sometimes it carried on for a bit too long.
January was a bit annoying, especially with how she kept lashing out after misinterpreting small bits of information. She at least could have attempted to get the full picture before getting so heated.

I particularly enjoyed how the story explored relationships about people who aren't necessarily MEANT to be together. At least not in the same sense of the ones you'll find in countless other books/movies etc.. Instead we got to see that there were other people in their lives who could easily have been *the one*.

As my first read book by this author I can only say: not bad, but not a favorite, we'll see about the others. Let the Emily Henry summer commence
