So contemporary YA is a genre that I never find myself leaning towards. I read to learn about new and interesting concepts. And I tend to find those in genre fiction (sci-fi, fantasy, thrillers). Contemporary YA always toes the line of boring for me. That being said, everytime I've read a novel in poems, I've really enjoyed it. I'm so glad I decided to take a chance on this book because it hit me in the feels hardcore. There were so many aspects of this book that I found myself relating to and so many endearing characters. This is so far out of my typical genres and tropes, but I loved it nonetheless
