This was a rec from a friend..and I am so glad I read it.  It is not an easy book to read, it’s a romance with a bit too much reality, but I think that is part of what I appreciated.   Looked up the backlash, and it seems many folks are not Hoover fans because of this book in particular…don’t know why. 
I hope folks that read this get the “it’s not a black and white situation” aspect of DV, so much is tied up into love and often support.   We’re all just people who sometimes do bad things.
