A River of Royal Blood by Amanda Joy

4.0

I usually never say this, but I really wish that this was just a little bit longer. The magic system was so well developed and I just kept wanting to know more about how it worked.

I read this via audiobook while doing most of my chores. So, that might have been a reason for why I zoned out sometimes, but I also found that whenever we were on the cusp of something absolutely amazing, the dynamics of the scene takes a full 360 and the momentum is lost.

I might have to do a reread of this in physical format, but I'm definitely looking forward to the second book.
