No review I write will ever hope to match Rooney’s prose. But I’m glad I read this. I relate to it in a way that feels self-absorbed - like a chic piece of home decor that you can proudly point to during a dinner party to show off your good taste in French design, but you’re not French and it came with the house.
Anyway. I noticed I absorbed every single word of this novel and it didn’t break the flow of the story in my head. That’s quite honestly the best indicator of quality for me. Forget about the lack of quotation marks, this was the most lucid I’ve been while reading.
