I loved seeing Phanessa's journey and how she grew through the years. I do wish she had more confidence in herself. She has a lot of imposter syndrome which under her circumstances I understand why she feels that way, but it would be nice if she saw herself the way her friends and others see her. Also, shout out to Natalia Hernandez for including a lot of queer characters. It was great seeing so much representation.

The pacing is slow. Normally, I hate slow pacing but I thought it really worked we with this story and how it was told. It would not have worked better in my opinion if the pacing was faster. I'm super curious as to what the next book entails.

Overall, I really loved this book and highly recommend reading this if you're looking for a unique fantasy adventure with a great cast of characters.
