I wanted to love this book through and through, especially after I enjoyed the first one so much but unfortunately I didn’t…
Wes and Liz seemed like completely different characters even their personalities sounded different.
Wes went through a lot and understandably felt overwhelmed by everything but the same Wes who hated to see Liz cry in the first book thought it was a good idea to lie about cheating so he could get Liz off his back? That doesn’t sound like Wes.
Lynn tried so hard to convince us that Liz was this badass, nonchalant girl who was over her ex but throughout the book Liz was just acting childish. The first thing that comes to her mind when she sees Wes is to create another fake relationship. What happened to all the character development from the first book? You’re telling me we’re supposed to clap for Liz when she decided to shut off and let go of everything that made her Liz just because a boy broke her heart? She shut off everything that made us love her in the first book and that just made me sad.
I guess it’s realistic in the sense that people grow and change after experiencing pain and suffering.
I love Liz and Wes but breaking them up for a sequel was unnecessary
