I'm reading this because I'm in my Wicked era, and I'm once again feeling sad for not being able to read and access English classics when I was little. 10-year-old Eve would definitely become someone with more courage, a bigger brain, and a bigger heart if she read this. 10-year-old Eve would have more chance to grow into someone who's not spending most of her time regretting past choices, and instead focus on what she gained along the way. 10-year-old Eve would allow her imagination to run wild if only she knew about this story. This was why I kind of intentionally avoid reading middle-grade classics now, because I can see the possibility of younger Eve loving it, or even blossoming into a better version of myself, and it saddened me to think about how the younger Eve didn't get the chance to.
