What a weird and disturbing book! At first i really felt for Natsuki and i could sympathise with her in some aspects especially grown up since i am also 34 years old, currently single and with no interest yet of having a child. We learn about her tramautic past and the response of her friends and family and up until a point i could go along with her and even justify most of her actions but as the book kept going it became more and more absurd and shocking.
I don't know what to think especially about the other two protagonists of the story.. I hoped we learned more about their past and their lives so we could empathise with them more and yet as i keep thinking about it... is it really necessary? Do we really need a reason or a tragic past to not want to conform in society's standards? am i also braiwashed by the Factory as the other Earthlings? In conclusion a very difficult book for me to review with great commentary in conformity and society, shocking to read most of the time and a book i'm certain i won't be able to stop thinking about even if i want to!!
