A Sweet Misfortune by Maggie Brendan
2.0

Other people have mentioned this, but the conversations were annoyingly dull. The ending from the kiss up to the wedding (and beyond) lasted WAY too long. The girl had too many suitors who too easily fell for other people when she rejected them. The PEFECT people for them, mind you.

Oh, and there was way too much condescending talk about the "soiled doves" and way too many assurances that the heroine was not one ... as if that somehow made her a better person. [insert eyeroll here]

If you like light historical romances that don't offer much in the way of entertainment value and feature sanctimonious main characters, then you'll like this book. Otherwise, you've been warned.
