The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine

1.0

Listened to this as an audio in like 2 sittings... doing a lot of sudoku during this time of social distancing.

Why is this classed as a thriller? It comes off as more of a drama to me, with dark elements thrown in. It was okay, moved quick enough to keep me interested. The characters are either "snobbish" or come off as annoying.

There is a lot of issues within this novel. Fat/body shaming, slut shaming, infidelity, abuse of several varieties- to start the list off.

The two perspectives start off clarified well. One section dedicated to each character told in third and first person respectively. However, the final part doesn't change toward the last bit to distinguish the characters and the characters are overly similar to the point that determining who is telling the story is a little difficult.

I do understand why this book was popular (due to the label I find highly incorrect) but don't agree with the story. This is a "read at your own risk" for sure.
