The Master of the Mill by Frederick Philip Grove
4.0
This is one of those books where it's better to pick it up knowing as little as possible of the story so I'll do my best to not give anything away.
This book is set during the industrial revolution and shows the struggles that those who worked for a mill faces as they became less and less useful to keep the mill running. It follows various members of the family who own the mill so if you're not a fan of multiple narrative points of view then this book will probably not be for you. It's important to pay attention to not only who is being focused on in each chapter but also when things are occurring since it is written with memories a lot of the time so you need to make sure you keep the timeline straight.
I really liked this book, I'm always a fan of historical fiction that gets done well so I'm glad I picked it up. I really enjoyed the writing style and had no issues keeping characters or timelines straight.
