The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street
by Karina Yan Glaser
"Mr. Beiderman quietly surveyed the scene, and then he took a deep breath. Oliver, who had glanced over at just that moment, said later that it looked like Mr. Beiderman was breathing happiness into his body."
Oh my god!! My heart can't take this book. It has grown at least 3 sizes, if not more. I love the Vanderbeekers. I love Miss Josie and Mr. Jeet. I love Franz, George Washington, and Paganini. I especially love this Harlem neighbourhood where everyone knows everyone and life is idyllic. No wonder the Vanderbeekers want to stay forever
