Loving Cara
by Kristen Proby
5++ stars!
I am in love. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading Loving Cara but from the first chapter I was hooked and had to physically force myself to not read it in one sitting.
As someone who's grown up in a big city, I never really could relate to books about small towns and country living but reading Loving Cara really makes me want to take a trip to Kansas asap. Cara is a a teacher and even though it's the summer, jumps at the opportunity to make some extra cash. She's known Josh for a long time and while they live in the same town, she doesn't really spend any time with him. Working with his nephew also puts them both around each other constantly and Josh makes his desire for her clear from the beginning.
I loved how sweet this book was. Sexy, but sweet. Cara isn't the chubby, curly haired teenager from high school and Josh notices right away. But I like how Cara doesn't just fall into bed with him. She is very attracted to him and I'll admit that sometimes it worried me how fast everything was going so fast but it actually worked with this book. Even though Josh may have a reputation as being a lady's man, he's very serious about Cara and is quite the gentleman with her. Just thinking about the things he says and does is making me both smile and sigh in happiness.
The supporting characters, especially Josh's family, really added a nice mix into this book. Seth, Josh's nephew has a lot of anger inside him but he's also a very sweet kid. Zach, Josh's twin brother (YUM!) has been in Afghanistan but once he comes home, he really made me fall for him as well as their best-friend Ty. I can't wait to read their stories and I hope they both end up with the women that were hinted to be their love interest.
Loving Cara is a sweet, sexy, drama free ( for the most part) story that will surely leave you smiling for the rest of the day. Kudos to Kristen Proby for proving she can write more then one amazing series and remind me how much I love romance novels!
