The Kind Worth Killing
by Peter Swanson
Ugh, this started out pretty well, but after 150 pages it just goes down down down hill. This is after two (pretty infamous) twists in the story, one I could get on board with, the other being rather asinine the whole 'this character is one we met before but she went by a different name, but we were not told that until now' is just such cheap and lazy writing, cause obviously the reader is gonna be surprised. And really, who does that anyway, go by your middle name in college and then change it back to your first name??? Only in this book, just so the reader can be shocked and awed.
And what was with the repetition, seeing the exact same conversation but from the other character's pov?? Sooooooooo boring, I couldn't give a shit anymore when that started happening. And the last 90 pages were so incredibly unnecessary I started to skim read.
