I liked it well enough.
The magic system is pretty good. It is nice to hang out with Saphira. The dwarves and elves are great. Pretty okay world building.
However, Eragon was an underwhelming hero. Any nuance or humor was lacking. Every cliche imaginable is here instead. For the most part, the plot is the indulgence of the trite fantasies of a boy. It passed by quickly enough though, for I listened to this on 1.9 speed on crowded buses. Uni is far.
