Verity
by Colleen Hoover
okay lets talk about this book.
I think this book deserves the hype tbh. Colleen Hoover writes books that are easy to follow and easy to read regardless of the plot and how problematic her characters can be. This book was easy to read and follow but at the same time left you with a lot of questions...honestly she did not have to give us the extra epilogue...she should have left us with the questions and left us thinking about the book as most of us originally read it. (I am still Team Manuscript...let me explain later)
From the start she captures the readers by letting us know that Lowen literally just witness somebody die in front of her with guts and blood splashing all over her and she literally just went about her day like it was casual...what like who died? and I know I will never find out but I still think about that lol. I always felt an off vibe with Jeremy from the start but as you continue reading and learning more about what happened with his children you kind of feel bad but by the end of the novel, you feel as though you have gone crazy cause this dude is crazy along with his demonic son, Crew. We should have known when they named somebody Crew, like why are you named after a carwash.
Now Verity. She's crazy and nothing will change my mind. She was a narcissist who loves Jeremy because she knew he was crazy too. She got pregnant again just to keep Jeremy, after telling us she hated being pregnant and tried aborting them. She even killed her child because she "did not like her"...excuse me what...I was truly shocked. Verity even faked being comatose and tried to drive Lowen crazy...I mean it worked but having your son in on it will definitely cause problems with him in the future...which we see in the extended addition.
I am Team Manuscript because there were too many unanswered things that would have only been answered by the manuscript such as the scar on her daughter's face, how her daughter died, why her daughter died, the whole her meeting Jeremy and how they stayed together, how Lowen and Jeremy got locked in, all the weird things Crew did. She wrote that letter after she got caught and needed something to pit Lowen against Jeremy because again Verity only wants Jeremy because they can be crazy together.
Overall this is a good book. I gave it 4 stars because this was truly some yt ppl ish...and everybody in this book are crazy and need major help.
