Ann Patchett did a beautiful job of story telling once again. As a Michigander, I could picture the orchards, the family, and all too well remember the pandemic lockdown from Covid-19.
As children, it’s so easy to not give a thought to what our parents were like before becoming our parents. This is a mother sharing one chapter of her life before she was their mom.
I had the hardcover book but I did listen to a sample of Meryl Streep reading the audiobook and if I had it to do again, I’d do the audio!
