A Deal With The Devil by Elizabeth O'Roark
medium-paced
- Plot- or character-driven? Character
- Strong character development? Yes
- Loveable characters? Yes
- Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes
3.75
Things I liked:
- The banter and jokes
- The honest self-reflection on past relationships
- The fake dating tropes
- The balance of daily struggles and looking on the bright side
- How demanding and forthright Hayes was
- The spicy scenes
Things I wasn't so keen on:
- I'm not sure I really felt the spark until way later, when we were supposed to feel it all along? Even with all the banter, the only thing she seemed to like about Hayes was his attractiveness
- Tali apparently being a ridiculously hot 10/10, but being completely unaware the whole book
- The awful book paralleling her situation
Graphic: Sexual content and Alcoholism
Moderate: Grief, Death of parent, and Medical content
Minor: Suicide attempt
