Do you want to read 300 pages of poetic bullshit about a straight white man abroad who thinks two beautiful women love him for absolutely no reason? The main character insists for the entire novel not really a poet and isn't fluent in spanish (while living in Spain) but then becomes relatively successful through very little work of his own.

Is Ben Lerner writing a caricature of himself? Is he really just this pretentious?
