Did not finish book. Stopped at 26%.

Saw it as a rec on TikTok as a “mummy movie” type book but it was not engaging. It’s clear it was also written in the 70’s because the use of pejorative language around non-white people saturates this book. I get that it takes place in the 1800s but I think there is a way to write a good historical fiction book without blatant racism and colonialism vibes.
