I really shouldn't be so surprised by how much I loved this novella when it's written by Queen Kennedy. I loved her Kingmaker Duet so much and so I know that I need to read her entire backlist. I have heard such great things about the Grip series but holy shit, I didn't expect a novella to capture my soul so quickly and so deeply! The characters are real, they're interesting, they're dynamic. In just a few interactions between them the sexual tension is at RED ALERT and I'm getting bangxiety.

I also love how Kennedy managed to already insert her work with her signature social commentary, even in a short piece such as this one. These characters are already having discussions about race and wealth disparity, and they just met!

I can't wait to see where this series takes me.
