Strong character development: Yes

Flaws of characters a main focus: No

I think this book was good overall. It took me longer to finish than I expected, but that was more of a “me” issue than a problem with the book itself. I just struggled to get into it at first. Once I got to the middle, though, the second half really drew me in, and I ended up enjoying it a lot.

One thing I’ve realized after reading five of Ali Hazelwood’s books is that she’s excellent at writing funny monologues, clever dialogue, and quirky characters. For example, in Love on the Brain, I loved how the humor was tied to science, neuroscience, and Bee’s personality it gave the book a unique charm.

If you’re looking for a quick, light romance with strong character dynamics and humor that feels fresh, Hazelwood’s books are a great pick. This one was no exception, and I’d recommend it (along with her others) for anyone wanting an easy, entertaining romance read.
