“The Stone Sky” is the third and final installment in The Broken Earth series by N.K. Jemisin. I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a great fantasy and sci-fi read. I will be thinking about The Broken Earth series for a long time as it was an incredible series. “The Stone Sky” wraps up the story of Essun and her daughter Nassun as they journey to fight for, save and protect the stillness and each other. This is a beautiful conclusion to a heart-wrenching story that spans three novels. The world building in these novels is so well-done, it felt like I could picture every setting and scenario. The similarities between the oppressive systems in the Stillness and in our current world are well-drawn and creates a great parallel to our society. This book is well-written, with pristine world building and character mapping; the plot flawlessly weaves in LGBTQ+ representation and the themes in the book are well structured and thought-provoking. This is one of my favorite reads!
