Can’t believe I hadn’t read this book until now, what a sweet story!!!! Oh my good god, I could not get enough and this pulled me out of the book slump I was slipping into. Noah is my favorite kind of MMC, golden retriever energy, secretly a freak, pining for the girl since they were teenagers. As someone who is also always scared people are going to leave them and ALSO as someone who raised their niece, I couldn’t decide which character I related to more. Shay, my sweet, sweet, Shay… is probably going down as one of my favorite FMC’s of all time. I loved seeing her grow from the first page to the last, loved seeing her learn to trust herself and lean into her wild feelings.

And Genna? Miss Imogen? Oh, you mean the MVP of the entire book… can’t remember the last time a child character made me laugh that hard. “Gimme the egg, shithead” had me laughing too hard for my own good.
