A rare “meh” for me on the sapphic romance front. I was expecting something a little less YA, which sounds silly since I knew this was YA, but I was disappointed that it took them until the 80% mark to even kiss lol.
I also wonder - was this book originally pitched as an adult romance, where the protagonists were older? That would have made a lot more sense for Arden’s backstory, since we’re led to believe that she’s *SUPER* famous (I think there was a quote on something about her being “the second most searched after Taylor Swift”??? Like girl be real, Arden is 18 and been acting for three years lmao). But to the point, if she’d had 10 years of Hollywood under her belt as her backstory and was about 25, I could have suspended my disbelief. This obscene fame we’re meant to buy into also made it 10x weirder for her to be hanging out with people she hasn’t seen since middle school, and tldr it was all very distracting from the actual cute stuff in this book.
