Carve the Mark
by Veronica Roth
If I could do half stars, I would give this a 3.5. Was good, but not necessarily amazing.
I wasn't sure I was going to go through reading it, I didn't get into it until about 75 pages in. That being said, once I got passed the beginning, I literally had a hard time putting it down. I liked it enough that I will want to read the sequel.
Pros:
-Cyra was badass. She was strong in ways that were not typically feminine, ie physically.
Cons:
-The pass of time sometimes confused me. Time jumped in certain parts and I had to backtrack to make sure I didn't miss that detail being given.
-The stark divisions between populations of people, just reminded me too much of Divergent. I suppose with any other author it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but when it was a main plot point of your previous novels it is hard to overlook.
