The Host
by Stephenie Meyer
My aunt gave me this book two weeks ago. She went on about how great it was and said I wouldn't be able to put down. I took one look at the author and shrugged it off, deciding I didn't want to read some alien version of Twilight.
I was working on a friendship bracelet I'd had taped to the book, so I ended up carrying it with me everywhere, yet still wouldn't dare read a Stephenie Meyer book.
By the time we got on the second plane back from vacation, I had absolutely nothing else to do, so I reluctantly started reading. By the time I got a few chapters in, I couldn't put it down! I was constantly wondering what would happen next, staying up way too late to keep reading.
I won't spoil the ending, but I found myself loving Jared just as much as some of the characters almost immediately.
