Wrathful Mortals by Susanne Valenti, Caroline Peckham

4.0

Definitely enjoying this series more as it progresses. Montana's character is growing by leaps and bounds, making up for Callie's pigheaded unwillingness to consider the viewpoints of others, even as she learns her interpretation may not be correct. I would have loved to have had more modern-day Erik in this book, though - maybe that would have made up for the overabundance of Magnar, who continues to be freaking terrible, even if he is super hot. Julius is hilarious even if also full of dumb thoughts and ideas.

Callie's choice at the end was a surprise to no one (cough*hypocrite*cough) but it was surprising to see her understanding of what happening during the battle at the end and the action she chose to take because of that understanding. I am looking forward to the next book - especially as there will definitely be more Erik!
