i had really high hopes for this book, but i honestly was not a fan. i was excited to see the trojan war through briseis’ point of view, but i felt like the story still ended up being so centered around achilles. i thought the themes of brutality against women, their deaths, and their enslavements was going to be touched upon more often, but it only came in waves (to be fair, it was very honest when it did come). i think i could have done without the change in POV from briseis’ first person to ✨third person unlimited✨ because it just took away from what i anticipated the story to be about.
