Very fantastical, definitely a fairytale. The story is fine. I wasn’t gripped, but I also didn’t feel like giving up. I think because it’s such a whimsical story compared to other books in the genre it threw me for a loop! 

Things I liked:
  • Jacks is an interesting MMC! Very sly. Do not trust. But also do trust. It’s complicated.
  • Evangeline’s constant live streamed thoughts as she puzzles things together.

Things I didn’t like:
  • Marisol even though I understand she is very much a product of her upbringing
  • Evangeline’s constant live streamed thoughts as she puzzles things together lol

Curious to see where the series goes from here!

the vampire chapters!!!! That’s really when it all turned around for me and i devoured the last however many pages.
