this is what I mean by unhinged women in literature. one whose unhinged-ness is brought by their actions and results in utter madness.

Irina is so fucking *clenches her in my hand and shakes her* but there were so many times where I was on her side and I love that shit. it sure isn't a pleasant read, but it never convinces you that it should be. I thoroughly enjoyed her spiral, even if it wasn't entirely what I was expecting.

the voice was by far my favourite, it fit so well. I personally am a fan of gorgeous writing, not usually something like this, but this was done well because Clark clearly chose her words with precision and made sure she had them suit what was going on. loved it. and the way we learn more about her past as we go through her A-Level and Uni books? I'm biting into my fist.

I'm not sure what's keeping this from being a 5 star read for me at the moment. I'll see if I change it once I sit on it for a bit. I'm definitely gonna check out Clark's other work, because if this is a debut novel? what else does this woman have up her sleeve.

but good lord, check the content warnings first. you won't like this one if you go in blind.
