Time to Shine by Rachel Reid
3.0
3.5 stars. I was so excited for another Rachel Reid book, and one set outside the Game Changers universe. Some things carried over, though: a well-written story heavy on the hockey (maybe a little too much so this time), filled with close and funny friendships among the secondary characters, and plenty of sex positivity among the main characters.
That being said, these main characters seemed so…young. Reid’s written other characters in their twenties, but those guys seemed more mature, probably by virtue of all they’d been through. These two read as children, though. Like I told an Instagram friend, I’d give this book to anyone who wanted to start reading romance books, but I’m too much of a veteran to get the most out of this.
