Desperately Seeking Roommate by Micalea Smeltzer

1.0

I absolutely hated how much the main character talked about her weight, and used it as an excuse to put herself down and then talk about how awesome she is right after. And I say all that as someone who's been bigger my whole life. I get the insecurities and the internal fight between those two sides, but it was hammered in so hard that it felt like her only real character trait. There are so many ways to write characters who are plus size where you acknowledge their weight without making it their entire personality, but this story did not accomplish that.

On top of that, the male lead was pretty boring and the side characters felt like caricatures rather than actual characters. The plot wasn't especially interesting either, and it just overall didn't work for me.
