Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer
5.0
Review of “Assistant to the Villain”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Rating System Below)
“Assistant to the Villain” by Hannah Nicole Maehrer is such a fun and addictive read! From the moment Evie takes on the job with Rennedawn’s most infamous villain, the story just pulls you in with a perfect mix of humor, romance, and a touch of darkness. The best part has to be the relationship between Evie and the Villain—their chemistry is so on point, and it slowly builds in a way that keeps you hooked. By the time I finished, I was all in on their dynamic.
The side characters are just as awesome, each with their own quirks that make the world of Rennedawn feel so alive. The humor throughout the book adds just the right amount of lightness to balance the darker stuff, making it a really enjoyable read. Even though I guessed who the traitor was early on, it didn’t take away from the story at all. It actually let me focus more on the characters and the plot, which flowed really well.
And that ending—I’m so glad I already have the second book ready to go! “Assistant to the Villain” is a fantastic mix of intrigue, romance, and a bit of villainy, and it’s the kind of story that sticks with you. If you love books with a great blend of humor, heart, and a dash of dark magic, you’ve got to check this one out.
