Laces and Lace by Toni Aleo

5.0

Laces and Lace is a book fueled by animosity that started in the prequel, Entangled in the Laces. Karson King and Lacey Martin met and fell in love in College. She was ready to follow him to the NHL until her controlling father interfered. Nine years later a chance meeting reunites them in a love that never died. Her father broke them up before, but now he is out to destroy Karson. Nate Martin is the poster child for terrible father-in-law. The lengths that he goes to keep control over his daughter is scary. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to reach through the pages and teach Nate a lesson. That hatred was inspired by the wirting of a very talented author. Toni Aleo's ability to make her characters real is amazing. I wanted to cheer and help Karson during the conficts. I wanted to shake sense into Lacey. I wanted to keep Rachel away from Lacey. And I wanted to thank Grady for realizing how happy Karson made Lacey. Laces and Lace is a beautiful romance, with a happy ever after that is earned, not given.

It seems like yesterday that I fell in love with Carson King. Today I fell in love all over again thanks the listening to the Audio book. It made my drive from California to Oregon a joy instead of a burden(6-25-2019)
