The Light Between Worlds by Laura E. Weymouth
4.0

I'm not going to lie... this was first and foremost a cover buy. I mean, just look at it! It's gorgeous!
Then once I got into the book I was quickly swept away by this magical story. I really enjoyed how the narrative kept switching from Evelyn's past to present, really giving an in depth look to her thoughts and feelings.
Spoiler My heart broke for Evelyn that she had such a hard time fitting into this world, when she knew her true home was The Woodlands. I admired her for trying so hard to fit in, until she finally knew it was time to let go and find her way back.

I also appreciated that the second half of the book was from Philippa's point of view. It's rare that you truly get to hear both sides of a story.
Spoiler I was surprised to learn just how much guilt Philippa was carrying around. After reading Evelyn's point of view, I thought Philippa was uncaring in a way that her sister was having such a hard time. But to find out that she knew she had made the wrong decision in forcing Ev home from The Woodlands was absolutely gut wrenching. Here she was thriving in her life post war at home, while in the meantime she watched her sister shrivel into a shadow of the person she could have been.

All in all this is a wonderful read, and I highly recommend it!
